The Perfect Me
Have you ever wished you were smarter than you are? Stronger? Had more friends? Maybe you wish you could be more popular than you are, maybe even more attractive? How about being more skilled, or have a better sense of humor? Or how about just happier than you are now? Maybe there are material things that you desire, a certain lifestyle you crave? Or on the other side of the coin, less selfish and more giving? Maybe there is something great you want to achieve that at present seems ridiculously impossible.
You CAN have all of these things and more! They take time for sure. Just imagine yourself being perfect. Fix a mental image of yourself as exactly the person you want to be. Don’t skimp either! Make sure that image you have includes every aspect of the way you want your life to be: how you wish to be thought of; what you wish to be doing; and where and how you want to live. Then imagine what that would feel like to actually be that person.
Once you have the “perfect you” pictured in your mind’s eye, indulge yourself by daydreaming about it often. Don’t be afraid to embellish your daydreams with ALL the things you want in life. Once you have obtained the “perfect you” in your mind, you are half way there. Just keep that image of yourself in mind as you go from day to day.
If you do this, you will soon naturally start to view the things you do on a daily basis much more constructively. It will be easy for you to ask yourself, “Is what I am doing right now the same as what the “perfect me” would be doing”? Likewise, “Is what I am doing right now something that the “perfect me” would do”? Just keep the image of the “perfect you” in your conscious mind and that will act as a goal setter or a compass for your subconscious mind to follow.
It sounds simple and it is. It does work! Remember, no goals ever get reached without being dreamed of first. Dreams plus action equals reality!
